On the 13-15 November 2018, the Smart City Expo World Congress (SCEWC) will be taking place in Barcelona to once again empower cities and collectivise urban innovation across the globe.
As the world’s leading event for cities, SCEWC is dedicated to creating a better future for cities and their citizens acting as a unique meeting spot for smart city sectors and an innovation platform for urban action worldwide.
Sustainability is a top priority, with the Towards Zero Waste initiative aiming to reduce waste and increase efficient use of resources across the event.
For 2018, SCEWC’s innovative format focuses on five main topics which will be represented in five thematic rooms:
- Digital transformation
- Urban environment
- Governance and finance
- Inclusive & sharing cities
The keynotes include: Rufus Pollock, founder and president of Open Knowledge, London; Andrew Keen, author of How to Fix the Future, Berkeley in the USA; Muhammad Yunus, founder of Grameen Bank & Nobel Peace Prize Laureate, Dhaka, Bangladesh.
