Neurobat AG is a SME, Swiss high-tech start-up company. Its domain of activity is R&D, marketing and sales of its unique adaptive, predictive control technologies and products to the heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) industry worldwide. The company has expertise in design and development of adaptive, predictive controls for HVAC for residential and commercial applications.
Neurobat AG has developed an adaptive, model-predictive control algorithm for the optimisation of space heating in buildings, which has achieved an average of 28% energy savings on ten test sites during the 2013 – 2014 heating season.
The predictive aspects of this algorithm will permit, in principle, a building operator to forecast the building’s future thermal loads for the next 24 hours. This information is not necessarily useful for oil- or gas-based systems, but any heating system based on electricity, such as heat pumps, can use this information to store extra energy when the cost is low.
Neurobat ceased working with the consortium in late March 2018.
